Whisper's Disneyland Adventures-Day 4

Day Four – Saturday, May 19, 2012
 Right, so this was our last day here, and the camera was broken. We were all in serious pain by this point - at least Brian and I were - so we took our time on this one, lol. Also, my pictures are guesses. My camera only had the digital screen, there was no regular viewfinder, so if the pics are off...that's why ^^;

We wanted to see World of Color that night, so the first thing we did was to to Cali Adventure and get fastpasses for it. We had to be there by 8, but it meant we got fantastic seats! Or it would, lol. We went on Soarin' again (family favorites had to). After that we went over to the River Run where they handed out the World of Color fastpasses. Once we had them, we hopped over to Disneyland since there were a few more rides we hadn't done yet ^^

We wanted to go on Space Mountain again and had fastpasses. Fate struck once again though, it wasn't meant to be. We were the next peope to get on the ride when it broke down. It was unbelievable! I swear, my family just breaks mountains! Last time Thunder Mountain, this time Space mountain...and the Matterhorn was closed entirely, maybe we did that too from a distance -.- We got a family fast pass for any ride in the park, except Star Tours and Indiana Jones. Which sucked, they were the two we really wanted to go on again -.- We decided we'd wait and go on Space Mountain later ^^

Instead we started with It's a Small World. Brian was hurting and didn't want to stand in line, so he sat it out. While we were in line, I watched Merida! If the stupid camera hadn't been broken, I TOTALLY would have gotten in line to see her! She was adorable and her hair and GAH I love her already! It would have been sooo cool ;_;

Small World was much more interesting than usual as well! Usually it's something to do, but it's not loved particularly well...the song it repetitive and stuff, lol. But at this one they made a change. There's Disney characters on the ride now! It made it really cool to search them out among the other dolls ^^

After that we went on the Storybook Land Canal Boats! I love this one, they don't have it in DW! It's got miniatures from the movies and it's just sooo cool! Lots of pictures for this one XD

The Big Bad Wolf's house. The three little pics were across the water, and surrounded by real ducks lol.

Alice's House ^^

These are all Cinderella pics. I took lots, because I didn't know which would miss and which weren't even taking, lol.

Toad Hall and the home of Modest Mole.

Pinocchio's village :)

And of course Price Eric's city by the sea ^^

Let's see, for lunch we went ot the Golden Horseshoe for ice cream. Well, we got some chicken nuggets, but for the most part, we had ice cream for lunch. It was wonderful. And the show was hilarious! Definitely worth seeing!! Then we went and rode Pirates of the Caribbean again, cuz it's always good and nice and cool XD Then it was time for another break. Brian and Mommy went back to the Golden Horseshoe because there was a real couch there to sit on! Daddy and I went over to Tom Sawyer's island to explore. I didn't care if I hurt like hell and was actually limping. I wasn't going to miss anything!

After that we went to meet the other two, who had bought some frozen lemonade for us when we got back. We sat there on the couch for a while and just relaxed, lol. Once we were done with that we made our way slowly back down Main Street, shopping on the way and seeing the show 'Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln'.

Then we went to get the various things we wanted to buy. I got that Hot and Nerdy shirt anda black sweatshirt with sparkly Disneyland stuffs on it and a mug. Brian got a coouple of shirts, my parents each did as well... andfor Colin, who was house sitting for us we got a Pirates of the Carribbean themed 5 shot glass. 5 shots in a single glass. He named it the Flying Duchman ;)

Once the shopping was done we went over to Cali Adventure again for supper. We ate at the same pasta place we had the day before, and I got the same incredible pasta because I could XD Since we'd be really early for the World of Color show, we also bought a towel to sit on. Then, seeing as the timing was perfect and it was almost 8, we went and got in line with our fastpasses. We were almost directly in front of the whole show, it was perfect. Of course it was a standing only show so they could crap more people in there...but we sat as long as we could, lol. I was freezing. We'd planned to go back to the room ad change and get books like we had before Fantast=mic, but we didn't end up having time. So I had my new jacket on and my old one over my knees. And I played game demos on my phone for two hours. I managed to beat a game of Uno in the minute long trial, I was proud!

World of Color itself...holy shit. there are no words for it, there really aren't. Fantasmic is good, but this new show is so beyond increidble. It's soo done with lights, water, and the occasional spurt of fire. I get choked up with Fantasmic, but with this? I was sobbing. Not even kidding. A few tears here and there then they hit the Lion King scene and I started sobbing, lol. And I couldn't quite finish before it ended. Mummy laughed at me. I just really like Disney, okay? :P

After that we shuffled along with the whole crowd. We still had our fastpass and it was only 10pm, so we wanted to go on Space Mountain! We were also brilliant about it. The rest of the crowd moved super slowly through the park to the entrance. But we had discovered earlier that the Grand Californian Hotel has its own private entrance right into Cali Adventure. And thus, an exit. And it connects to Downtown Disney.

We cut through the hotel and walked a little further down the shopping strip, to the Monorail. Which we took right into Tomorrowland. It was perfect. We missed all the crowds and were there before even the first people who left the show could reach the other park!
Brian's phone again. I knew where the picture spot was this time, I posed last minute :P Daddy too apparently, I love my family XD

So we rode Space Mountain! It was the very last ride of the trip, we wanted it to be special. We were lucky and in the back of the train this time, which feels faster and makes for a much more exciting ride. We loved it XD It made for a loverly end to a loverly trip :)

The next morning we got to sleep late. We left the hotel at 11 and took and car to the airport. We were super early, lol. But they had free WiFi, so wooo!! I managed to get all my pics uploaded and fixed the brightness and contrast and color and such. We landed in Denver around 6 something, took the bus back to the car, drove home...the whole flight and ride I was reading Percy Jackson 5. At least until it got too dark to do so :P We made it home around 8 or 9 and I spent the night typing the first two of these up. ANd today I did the last two!

Hopefully I didn't bore you all to tears with my ramblings. I hope you liked my pictures! A lot of them will go on tumblr and devArt, so you'll see them again XD

Twas quite an adventure, i'm looking forward to the next one already! once I no longer hurt so much anyways :P

Whisper's Disneyland Adventures-Day 3

Day Three – Friday, May 18, 2012

And so we come to day 3 of the trip, Disneyland California! Now the morning started and we were all pretty grumpy. It was a little chilly and cloudy, it looked like rain. Not to mention all the stuff we'd done the day before had worn us out. It didn't feel like it at the time, but we pushed ourselves WAY too hard that first day. Which was silly, because we had an extra day to do anything we needed to do. You know how when you exercise really hard and you're supposed to wait a day for your body to heal? We didn't do that, lol.
Even so, I was excited! Last time we got to come here, California Adventure had only just opened, and was pretty small! Of course it still feels pretty small, but there was new stuff, so I was happy XD They're in the middle of a ton of construction right now though, between the new Buena Vista street which will be the entrance, and the Cars Land thing. Oh well, we just have rotten timing, lol.

Sorin' was the first ride we went on, which was fitting. We loved this ride SO SO much the first time we went on it, so we had to do it first! They have one in Florida now, but I swear, the one in Cali is better ^^ I did bend my nail backwards through, which hurt like hell -.- Really far back too, I now have a lovely dark red line under my nail o.O Too much info? I'll shut up now :P But anyways, the ride was beautiful as ever. I may have gotten a teensy bit choked up, lol.

Next up was the Tower of Terror! Of course it was Friday, so the whole park was busier...and the line was already long. We didn't go on it quite yet, but we got Fastpasses.
After that we wandered around the Hollywood Backlot area. Saw the thingie they're building for the new MadTParty...I wish i could have gone! Then we went through the stores along the road, full of animation and art and such... It made me hate myself, lol. I felt like such a horrible artist after looking through there -.- This second picture, the Once Upon a Time one, was on the wall going into a giant place that has the Turtle Talk with Crush, the Art of Animation show...but we didn't get to see any of them, which made me sad!

The video below them...they have a round table that spins, with Toy Story Characters all around it. Each with a slight adjustment in their pose. So when the whole thing spun and they flashed lights on the thing at just the right rate, it looked like they were moving! Sorry, it's sideways, you'll have to turn your head to watch :P WHile we were down int hat area we also rode the Monster's Inc ride, which didn't really strike me as being particularly special...and the Muppet Vision 3D show! That was a good one, I haven't seen that thing in yeeeeears!

Right, so we had time to spare so we started making our way over to Paradise Pier. We didn't have time for much thanks to our Fastpasses for ToT.
But we took advantage and rode the new Ariel's Undersea adventure ride! I was a little more critical of thisone...the Fantasyland rides are allowed to be "bad" you know? They're older rides, so you don't have any great expectations. They still make me really happy. This one is brand new, so my standards were pretty high :P And for the most part, they were met! I was reeeally impressed with their new robotic characters, the "skin" stuff they use is much more flexible now, so it looks like skin! I was interested to see that they did in fact treat Ariel's hair as another limb during the ride XD

Then we went over to the roller coaster to get Fastpasses for that...and afterwards turned right around and went all the way back over to Tower of Terror, lol.

I love this ride so muuuuch!! The ambiance, the story, the creativity...it's so beautifully creepy XD And the ride is different from the one in Disney World, so I had no idea what to expect when, no more than anyone else, lol. As you can see...my family is interesting. Brian and I are just super excited, and my parents didn't seem to realize that they were about to drop!

After that we went BACK across the whole park (sheesh, no wonder we hurt so badly o.O) to the roller coaster. My mom passes, having a headache, so it was just me, Brian and my dad. But it was fun. The ride was a lot more tame than I remember it being, but the last time I rode it was also 10 years ago :P
I have no idea what Brian is doing here, but I cracked up when I saw it XD

AFter the roller Coaster, it had warmed up and it was all nice and sunny. Brian and I skipped across half the park to get fast passes for the Grizzly River Run, one of those 8-seater rapids rides :D Then we walked back to the opposite end of the park and met the parents at the restaurant for lunch. I had this incredible pasta...I don't even know what it was, but it was GOOD.

So by then, we'd seen most of the park! There wasn't really anything else we wanted to do except Goofy's Sky School (essentially Mouse Trap), but that was closed. So we went back to the room for a while. We relaxed and napped...I tried to get online and get through messages, but at some point I laid down and passed out for a half hour, lol. After that we changed into jeans since it would be cold, grabbed books since we had to sit around for a while, and went back to Disneyland. We were going to watch Fantasmic! We had time, so we did a bit of shopping...
This shirt hit me so hard XD And yeah, I came back and bought it on our last day :D
We grabbed ourselves some seats down by the water, with a pretty good view for the show. It was only...7ish at the time? And the show wasn't until 9 or something, rofl. While Mommy and Daddy read and saved our seats, Brian and I went to ride Haunted Mansion again. The line was longer this time around, so we didn't go straight inside. I was alright with that though, because there's stuff in the line that is so picture worthy XD And I have cool pics of the Haunted Mansions in Disney World and Disneyland Paris, so I needed one of this one!!

What can I say? I like this ride! Interesting fact (I know, again >.>), the location of Haunted Mansion is different in every park. In Cali it's in new Orleans Square, in DW it's in Liberty Square, in DL Paris it's in Frontier Land and in Tokyo Disneyland it's in Fantasyland! The outside of the ride is different for each of them so they match with the location of the ride ^^

And then came Fantasmic. It was...beautiful. Incredibly amazing, I can't... I choked up. I was near tears multiple times, it was awful. Well, wonderful, just pathetic, lol.

Unfortunatly, the camera was broken. I pulled it out to get a picture and the screen was cracked and all screwed up. You can't see a thing on it anymore! So I only got one pic of the show...Yay Peter Pan! And a couple of test pictures to see if it still worked? I figured I'd share since they're silly, lol.

Needless to say, I was really glad I took so many pictures the day before and all today. Because everything I took from here on out was guesswork, lol.

After that came the fireworks. We were off to the side, but we didn't mind. We managed to get a peek of Tinkerbell and Dumbo flying across the park through the trees, so we were good ^^ After it was over we hopped on the train, figuring we could get to the gate faster. It kind of was...though we did get stuck. The train in front of us had issues and we had to sit for 10 minutes waiting, but that wasn't so bad. We still made it to bus and home at a decent time ^^
